Russian Icon Virgin of Kazan - Lacquer Hard Eyeglass Case Box - "Keep The Virgin Mary Icon Close to You All The Time"

The box has been specially construed of a resin (with the look of a finely made lacquered box) and line to safely hold eyeglasses or any other use you think of. The bottom and some sides have a random design in a coordinating color. This design is not visible when the box is displayed. 

The box has a decopague Byzantine Cross ornamentation framing, a traditional icon. The artisans then add a "hand painted" ornametal boarder as found on the finest lacaquer boxes.

ICON - The icon on this box is the VIRGIN OF KAZAN one of the most beloved icons of the Virgin in Christianity. The Christian East Theotokos of Kazan is known for her “protection” of the Russian people throughout Russian history. In the West this icon was venerated for many years before the original was returned to Russia by Saint Pope John Paul at the shrine at Fatima.
